I'm happy to announce that finally my company, Pages Computer Systems & Services, is now open for business this July 2011.

Pages Computer Systems & Services is a software development company that aims to provide custom and generic software development to small and medium sized businesses.

We are located at 11 Upper Brookside, Baguio City, Philippines.

For now, I am your host for this website. I am Constantine Guitang, an Electronics and Communications Engineering graduate of Saint Louis University, Baguio City in 1996.

Let me tell you a story on how programming got into my veins.

I had my first hand in programming when I took up my Programming 1 subject offered under my ECE curriculum in 1993. I got so interested that ever since, I've been learning and doing programming. It was the days of Turbo Pascal then. We do programming using DOS operating system, most of which were engineering computations exercises as part of the subject requirements, and some side hobby projects like a Filipino card game called Tong-its. Then C and C++ was introduced in SLU sometime in 2000 to replace Turbo Pascal. Then a year later, we started using Visual C++. That's when we started developing a timer program for internet cafés.

Then came a more challenging project in 2003, an integrated school system for Divine Word College of Laoag in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte. We used Visual Basic .NET then because that's the preferred programming language in their Computer Science department. We used Microsoft SQL as our database. These computer languages were new to us but we need to rely on our fundamentals in programming to finish that project. And it was a success.

The success of the project in Laoag were adopted by Divine Word College of Vigan in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur. This time, we developed their school system using Visual C# and Microsoft SQL. And so with succeeding projects, the combination of Visual C# and Microsoft SQL is our preferred choice.

That passion in programming is still burning in me and I feel, in more years to come. So I decided it's time for me to take the next step. To establish my own software development company.

Pages Computer Systems & Services is the next stage in my pursuit to use my programming skills in helping you and your business own a system that helps you get your job done, through customized system to address your business operations that need automation, data storage and analysis. This is not just to simplify your day-to-day intricate tasks but to help you and your company in your decision making.

Some customized software that we can do can be a school system, point of sale and inventory system, credit cooperative system, and multi-networking system. Or you might have a system in your mind that you've been longing to have but cannot implement it because maybe the available out-of-the-box or generic software that are out in the market are too complicated for your needs. Or maybe some features you've been needing are not there. Or maybe a budget constraint.
